Interns

Mahsa Tashakor
Master of Design science (Illumination Design & Sustainability Design), Bachelor of Architecture
Mahsa moved to Vancouver from Sydney in early 2011 after graduating from Master of Design science from University of Sydney. She chose Illumination Design as her first stream to pursue her passion of lighting as the vital part of architecture. There, she also gained an internship as a lighting designer intern with Lighting Design Partnership (LDP) in Sydney, working on efficient lighting design for offices, façade lighting design of towers and landscape lighting design from concept to documentation.

Studying the principles of sustainability was another path for her to make a connection to the world which is shifted to a more sustainable form of development. In summer 2011, she stepped on this path professionally by an internship in sustainability with the City of Vancouver. She was part of a team that worked for Vancouver 125 festival developing materials to create a waste zero event. This experience provided her with a broad understanding of waste management for civic events including educating people about recycling practices. Her great passion is in utilizing both lighting and sustainability design to create a convenient environment for human beings.
